Project Overview
Everyday Living & Layout Philosophy
We designed and built this home to work well for everyday living while also accommodating large family gatherings and entertaining. From the beginning, our focus was on creating a layout that felt open and connected while still allowing for privacy where it mattered most. This balance is something we prioritize on every project as a custom home builder in Central Arkansas
Main Floor & Primary Suite
The main floor is centered around a two-story great room that connects the living spaces visually and physically. The kitchen, breakfast area, and great room were laid out to function together, making the space practical for daily use and comfortable for hosting guests. A large island, hidden pantry, and efficient kitchen layout support both cooking and entertaining without feeling crowded.
The primary suite is located on the main level and separated from other bedrooms. It includes a well-appointed bathroom with custom tilework, a large shower, and ample closet space, along with easy access to the outdoor living areas.
Additional Spaces & Indoor/Outdoor Connection
Additional bedrooms, bonus rooms, and an upstairs balcony overlook provide flexibility while keeping private spaces separate from shared areas.
A major focus of this home was the connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Covered porches, balconies, and direct access to the pool allow the outdoor areas to function as an extension of the main living space. Large windows and doors bring in natural light and views while maintaining energy efficiency through thoughtful design and construction—a key part of our approach as a design-build contractor in Central Arkansas.
The exterior combines brick, stone, and detailed rooflines to create a timeless appearance that fits the scale of the home. The end result is a house that functions well day to day, supports entertaining, and reflects how the owners wanted to live in the space—something we strive for on every project we design and build in Central Arkansas.
Project Outcome
The end result of this project was a custom home our clients couldn't be happier with. One of the spaces that has meant the most to them is the custom-designed kitchen, which has truly become the heart of the home. As their kids have grown up, the kitchen has been where she's taught them how to cook, prepare meals together, and spend time as a family. She loves the layout's functionality and still cooks there constantly, which was exactly the goal when we designed and built the space as a custom home builder in Arkansas.
From a performance standpoint, the home has also exceeded expectations. The owners consistently see very low utility bills, and the home stays comfortable in every area thanks to a properly designed, zoned HVAC system with multiple thermostats. Each unit was correctly sized for the home, which is critical for energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term performance. As a design-build contractor in Arkansas, we place a strong emphasis on properly sizing heating and cooling systems—oversized or undersized equipment can lead to uneven temperatures, higher energy costs, and unnecessary wear. Getting this right is a key part of how we design and build energy-efficient custom homes in Arkansas.
The outdoor living spaces have become another major highlight. The covered outdoor kitchen and infinity pool have hosted many large gatherings, making the home a natural place for entertaining family and friends. The layout allows guests to move easily between the interior living spaces, pool deck, and outdoor kitchen, which is something we intentionally plan for when designing custom homes with outdoor living in Arkansas.
The hot tub has also become a favorite spot for relaxing. It’s a great place for couples to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset, and it’s just as enjoyable on colder days when they want a quiet place to unwind. Features like this allow the outdoor spaces to be used year-round, adding real value to the overall home design.
Overall, this project is a strong example of our approach as a custom home builder and designer in Arkansas. By handling both design and construction, we’re able to focus on efficiency, comfort, and how our clients actually live in their homes. The result is a custom-built home in Arkansas that performs well, supports entertaining, and continues to serve the family as their needs evolve.
